I'm just--I'm feeling kind of weird? Uh, not, like--this is weird. Mom's boyfriend has been coming over? And I don't have a problem with it or anything, but--I think I feel weird about not feeling weird?

Kid, that was a whole lot of not english and the word weird. Like ten times.

[jake_c]

Shut up. He's all nice and laid back and teaching me guitar. I know I shouldn't be surprised mom found a cool boyfriend, but I sort of figured if she ever started dating it would be some dorky, boring accountant or something. I wasn't prepared for this.

Teaching you guitar, huh?

[jake_c]

He used to be in a band.

[jare]

Oh. Well, it's awesome that you like him. That's kind of way better than the alternative, right?

[jake_c]

Yeah, I know it is. I'm glad. And I can tell mom's really relieved. I just--I dunno. It kind of makes me miss you.

[jare]

I miss you too. But you'll definitely be able to come out here this summer, and I've got some irons in the fire.

[jake_c]

Yeah. So--you're not mad?

What? Jake, no, of course not. I'm your dad, nothing can change that, but if you want to have a relationship with Jensen, I think that's awesome. I'm glad you guys are getting along.

[jake_c]

Okay. I, uh--I am totally aware it was stupid to worry about that, but I couldn't stop.

[jare]

I love you. I want you and your mom to be happy. If he makes you guys happy, that's great.

[jake_c]

Uh, well, I think he's making us two very different kinds of happy, but let's go with that. You should move back here anyway, though. And then I'll show you my new mad guitar skills.
