Jake has an awesome spring break with dad, but he's pretty excited to see his mom again. He misses the two of them living in the same place, even if he gets it. He picks her up and spins her around, laughing. "Hi, mom," he says. "Miss me?"

"Did you grow while you were gone?" Gen says, ruffling his hair as she laughs. "Put me the hell down."

[jake_c]

Jake laughs and puts her down. "Dad fed me nothing but junk food," he says. "It was clearly good for me. Vegetables aren't necessary."

[gen_erally]

"I'm going to call and yell at him," Gen says, laughing. "I love you." She kisses his cheek. "How was your trip?"

[jake_c]

"It was awesome," says Jake. "But I missed you. You should come next time." He smiles. "How was your week?"

[gen_erally]

"Pretty good," Gen says, with a smile, slinging an arm around his shoulder. "Uh, Jensen and I hung out a lot, we went to the museum. And I brought new life into the world. You know. Minor stuff."

[jake_c]

"Wow, the museum," Jake teases. "Truly you are the master of the hot date."

[gen_erally]

Gen laughs. "You're a brat," she says. "Um - I think he's going to come to dinner this week? If you feel okay with that?"

[jake_c]

"Yeah, that sounds okay," says Jake. "He's still not a weirdo."

[gen_erally]

"Um, nope," Gen says, with a smile. "I think I like him a lot. I'm kind of hoping you will too."

[jake_c]

"If you like him, I probably will," Jake says. "Your taste doesn't suck or anything."

[gen_erally]

"Thank you for that generous assessment," Gen says, dryly.

[jake_c]

Jake laughs. "I'm really glad you like him," he tells her.

[gen_erally]

"He's pretty cute," Gen says, laughing. "Also, contrary to anything your father told you, I did not turn your bedroom into a den of iniquity while you were gone."

Jake makes a face. "Why would you do that to my bedroom? You have your own."

[gen_erally]

"Pretty much," Gen says, ruffling his hair. "Burgers?"

[jake_c]

"I love when you miss me and buy me junk food," says Jake, laughing. "Burgers sound awesome."
